Aetna Foundation to Receive 2010 Corporate Leadership Award

WINDSOR, Conn. – January 24, 2011 – Easter Seals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut will award the Aetna Foundation with the 2010 Corporate Leadership Award at their Annual Meeting and Donor Appreciation Reception on January 25, 2011.  This distinct honor is awarded to the corporation whose achievements throughout the year include considerable financial assistance, in-kind services and employee engagement.  

“It is with great appreciation that we recognize the Aetna Foundation for its continued commitment to the success of our organization and our mission of service to individuals with disabilities,” said John M. Jezowski, Chairman, Easter Seals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut, Board of Trustees.  “It has created a great legacy of caring and has demonstrated strong corporate responsibility through its support of our programs and services.” 

Aetna Inc. and the Aetna Foundation began its long history of supporting Easter Seals in 1991 by giving to the Capital Campaign and continues through present day with the support of the Easter Seals Crystal Ball, Volleyball Marathon and Softball Tournament.  By supporting these events, the Aetna Foundation has not only shown its strong commitment toward revitalizing our community but, it has also become an invaluable asset for the continued growth of our organization.  Anne C. Beal, MD, MPH, president of the Aetna Foundation, will be accepting the award.
