    The Aetna Foundation is pleased to announce a new, Open RFP -- Local Roots: Supporting Community Gardens, Urban Farms and Farmers Markets. Through this RFP we will fund the creation and expansion of community gardens, urban farms and farmers markets in underserved neighborhoods so that fresh fruits and vegetables are locally available, accessible and affordable.   • Aetna Foundation Awards $3.4 Million in Regional Grants to Nonprofits Nationwide
    Through its 2014 Regional Grants Program – GoLocal: Cultivating Healthy Communities, the Aetna Foundation made grants totaling $3.4 million to nonprofit organizations in 18 states and the District of Columbia. The grants will support 119 community-based projects that encourage better nutrition and greater physical activity – particularly among those living in underserved communities.
