The Aetna Foundation is dedicated to promoting wellness, health and access to
high-quality health care for everyone, while supporting the communities we serve.

Our grants focus on issues that improve health and the health care
system. We award grants through our two processes: Regional and National.

Regional Grants

GoLocal: Cultivating Healthy Communities

Our 2015 program will support the creation and expansion of community gardens, urban farms and farmers markets in underserved, low-income and minority communities.

Before applying, please read the RFP and Frequently Asked Questions. Remember, the deadline for applications is May 6 at 5pm ET.

Due to the competitive nature of the program, we encourage you to submit your completed application as early as possible to avoid last-minute complications or submission issues.

National Grants

Our national grants support research, programs and policy analysis that have implications to improve people’s health, wellness and access to high-quality health care across the United States.

The Aetna Foundation currently does not accept unsolicited proposals for our National Grants Program. Instead, we work directly with targeted nonprofit organizations to develop projects. On occasion we issue specific Requests for Proposals for work that closely aligns with our funding priorities.

Awards are generally between $50,000 and $150,000. Funded projects are not to exceed a two-year timeline.
