Do you have a budget template or sample budgets I can use?
A sample of our budget template for our National applications can be found online. This template is also part of the application. For our regional and sponsorship proposals, the budget template is part of the application.
What are indirect costs?
Indirect costs are general overhead expenses that cannot be specifically charged to an individual project. They help to support operational costs incurred by the applicant organization. Examples include rent, accounting, grants management, legal expenses, utilities and facilities maintenance. In all proposals, indirect costs may not exceed 15% of the total grant request. In addition, direct and indirect costs combined cannot exceed the grant limits.
Do you have any other limits to grant requests?
The Aetna Foundation adheres to the following additional limits regarding proposed application budgets:
No more than 20% of an organization's overall annual budget can be supported by an Aetna Foundation grant. In addition, no more than 20% of an FTE for a principal investigator and/or project manager, can be supported by an Aetna Foundation grant.
Do you support any type of operational expenses?
The Aetna Foundation does not support operations or the regular business of our grantees. A goal of our grantmaking is to support projects that are research or identify new practices that create generalizable knowledge that can be used by others.
Do I need to show other project support?
Yes. Please list all other funding sources (potential or confirmed), including all health care benefits/health insurance firms currently attached to your proposal. Please identify the amount requested from each potential/confirmed funding source and the amount received (if applicable).
